This fall, a group of families from Racine made their first annual pilgrimage to DeKalb From Racine for a youth football tournament, All were excited! for some money was saved and the trip was treated as an annual holiday. There was one very special warrior in the group. It was decided that they would all have a BIG breakfast! Steak and eggs and the works. They googled and settled on Egg Haven. The orders were in and delivered with the always amazing service we here have come to expect. Unfortunately, our warrior threw up on his breakfast. The amazing staff quickly came to clean it up. Our warrior offered to clean it up himself and was told no, they got it. Our warrior's mother asked to have the meal replaced. It was and it was delivered by the owner Pete. When the check came the balance was $0. For the whole party. That warrior is Jaeden Gain. He is fighting cancer. He has had a large tumor removed from his brain. He is fighting through chemo. That kindness shown by Pete will never be forgotten by JaeDawg's mom Amanda. Nor will it be forgotten by the city of Racine. These are the random acts of kindness Pete is known to show all the time. He did not know Jaeden was fighting cancer. He just saw a boy who needed some kindness. You are an amazing advocate from DeKalb County Pete! Next year on their second trip Egg Haven will be flooded by a very grateful Racine!
